About Cumberland Life
Welcome to the Cumberland Life website – A digital platform for Cumberland County’s newest community newspaper. We use the phrase “community newspaper”, because, truly, that is where our heart lies – here in our community, in Cumberland – the place that our business and families are sincerely proud to call home.
There are two reasons that this paper exists: 1) For the residents of Cumberland, and 2) For the business community of Cumberland. Below we will speak to each of you in the hopes of helping you understand why we are so passionate – not about the pieces of paper that you hold in your hands, but more importantly, about what these pieces of paper represent – a REAL tangible sense of community, at a time when we all need it most.
We are not a huge national corporation; we are simply a locally based family business who live, work and play here in Cumberland, and we are determined to do our bit to give back to the community that allows us to live the lives that we love.

We know that the last few years have been predominantly challenging, and now that the rising cost of – seemingly everything – is making life ever increasingly expensive, we want to do the following; we want to shine some light on all the positive events going on here in Cumberland, and we want to help you save as much money LOCALLY as humanly possible. There are stories to be told, victories that need celebrating and lives that must be remembered. There are individuals and families that need your support, and there are local businesses that need your support just as much. We want your feedback. We want to give you more of what you want and less of what you don’t. We want to be the light in the darkness and be the hope in the face of fear.

This community newspaper is for you Cumberland. It cannot exist without your support. You are the oxygen that will keep this paper alive. You can breathe new life into our community by voting with your feet instead of your fingertips. You can choose to shop locally more often than you do online. You can choose to share positive stories that uplift us instead of undermine us. You can be the change you want to see and the change that we all need. Our community is too small to be divided. Together we are united. Together we are powerful. Together we are unstoppable!
We believe that a rising tide truly does lift all boats, and if you will be kind enough to join us for the ride, today we are setting sail towards a brighter future for Cumberland County – a future where our economy and our population continues to grow, a place where people turn off the highway and visit us more often, and a place that we are all proud to call home.
From this day forward we will be doing our bit for the community, but we do need your help. This is your newspaper – we are here because of you and we are here for you. Together we are going to celebrate everything great about this place; the kind people, the supportive neighbours, the hard working individuals and the passionate leaders.
